Frequently Asked Questions

All sessions begin with a Consultation. This gives us a chance to connect, talk through what you’re hoping to photograph, and make sure we’re a good fit.
If we decide to move forward, your session fee is confirmed and paid to reserve your session. After your session, you’ll receive a curated gallery where you can choose how you’d like to enjoy your images through artwork, digital images, or collections.
-
After your consultation, if we decide to move forward, your session fee will be confirmed and paid to reserve your session date. You’ll then receive guidance to help you prepare, along with next steps and timing details.

Booking & Process
-
You’ll receive thoughtful guidance throughout the process so you feel prepared and supported.
Before your session, this includes consultation support, location planning, wardrobe guidance, and a prep guide to help you feel confident on session day.
After your session, I’m available to answer questions, help you think through artwork options, and provide recommendations based on your home and goals. The experience is designed to feel organized, clear, and collaborative from start to finish.
-
Absolutely. Many people feel this way at first. I’ll guide you with gentle direction and natural prompts so you can relax and focus on the experience rather than the camera. You don’t need to know how to pose.
-
Final retouching and finishing are applied to images once selections are made. The goal is to present images that feel polished while still looking natural and true to you.
-
Only your sneak peek and proofing galleries are watermarked to protect your images during the selection process. Your final, printed products and high-resolution digital images will never include watermarks.
Client Experience
-
Most sessions are photographed outdoors or on location. Specific locations are discussed during the consultation to ensure they support the goals and feel of your session.
Looking for location inspiration? These are some of my favorite local spots for photos.
-
Yes. Local travel (within 25 miles of Rochester) is included with your session fee. Travel outside the local area may be available and is discussed during the consultation.
-
The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and confident. Neutral or coordinating tones tend to photograph beautifully, and I recommend avoiding overly busy patterns. After booking, you’ll receive a prep guide with outfit tips and inspiration to help you feel camera-ready.
-
Yes, pets are welcome in many sessions.
If your pet is the primary focus of the session, a Pet Session is the best fit so we can dedicate the time and attention they deserve.
For people-focused sessions such as portraits, couples, or family sessions, a pet may be included for part of the session when appropriate. Sessions involving multiple pets or additional planning may affect the session fee.
For everyone’s safety, clients are responsible for their pets’ behavior and well-being during the session.

If conditions aren’t suitable for your session, we’ll reschedule to the soonest available date that works for both of us. My priority is making sure you have the best experience and images, and sometimes that means waiting for better light or weather.
