Golden Hour with Jonathan, Jared, and Remy at the Webster Arboretum
I could not have asked for a better way to kick off my blog than with this session. Jonathan, Jared, and their pup Remy joined me for an evening filled with laughter, connection, and the kind of light that makes my photographer heart sing.
Golden hour magic
The Arboretum is one of my favorite places to shoot because it offers so much variety. Winding paths, open lawns, and tucked-away garden corners give every session a different feel. During golden hour, the light filters through the trees and adds a soft glow that makes everything feel a little extra magical.
Jonathan, Jared, and Remy
Jonathan and Jared had such an easy rhythm together from the start. They laughed freely, held hands as we moved from spot to spot, and slipped into embraces that felt natural and unposed. From the way Jared wrapped his arms around Jonathan to their casual glances and quiet laughter, their connection came through in every frame. That comfort gave their gallery a mix of intimacy and warmth, balancing polished portraits with candid moments.
And then there was Remy. He is the kind of dog who knows he belongs in the spotlight. Whether he was sitting proudly between them, running across the grass with his beloved toy dinosaur, or simply soaking up the attention, he brought so much personality to the session. Including pets always adds energy and fun, and Remy completely stole the show.
Why I love the Arboretum for sessions
The Webster Arboretum has a little of everything, which is why I often recommend it to couples and families. The archways frame portraits beautifully, the tall grasses near the pond glow in evening light, and the open space gives dogs like Remy room to run. It is a location that works year-round but truly shines in late summer and fall.
Final thoughts
As I continue to grow Laura Sharp Photography, sessions like this remind me why I do what I do. Photography is not just about capturing how people look. It is about showing connection, whether it is between two people, a family and their dog, or the bond with a favorite place.
Jonathan, Jared, and Remy, thank you for letting me spend this golden hour with you.
